Who we are

GrumpyGranny is an independent association. Our aim is to ensure that visitors to the area can explore the many tourist sites in comfort.

We believe it is very important that everyone should know what to expect, whatever their circumstances before they travel to a site or pay for their tickets. However, when you arrive in the Perigord, you are overwhelmed - deciding on the perfect visit can be daunting and although everyone has different interests what we all want is to visit in comfort

The guide came about when several of us who live in the Périgord found ourselves visiting some tourist sites which were interesting but frustrating. Sometimes it was impossible to use a pushchair on gravel paths, or there were too many unexpected stairs, inadequate shelter from the sun or no chance after a steep climb to catch our breath or rest our legs.

Rather than complaining among ourselves we decided that we could put our experience to good use by helping others. Grumpy GrannyLogo grand-mère grogon now represents what so many of us think - that when visiting a tourist site, comfort is essential, not a luxury. She accompanies you throughout our guide, offering helpful suggestions.

GrumpyGranny's team of assessors has made detailed reports on more than 70 paying tourist sites in the area indicating the level of comfort you may experience, according to your needs. We feel sure you will find this information useful.

Enjoy your visit!
